4 months gone already

It's been just over four months since I arrived here in Sao Paulo. Time is just traveling too fast. 4 months is one third already of my time living and working here in Brazil and also of our MC term. It's put me into a very reflective mood realising this and the past week I have spending a lot of time thinking about my goals for the year here and how I feel I am achieving them so far.

The short answer is that I'm not on track.

Spending almost two months of my time so far travelling hasn't helped this and i hope that know that I am in Sao Paulo until Christmas I will be able to catch up with some of my goals for my year here. It's not to say I haven't done anything to achieve them, I feel I have learnt a lot about the culture so far here and my Portuguese is coming along ok. Also I have begun to learn a lot about social entrepreneurism as it is understood in Brazil which is one of my key goals, it's a very interesting subject for me which I will share more on at a later stage. So far my biggest question about this is why is the movement so small in Australia? It's just there are many other things that still require my attention.

Areas I need to focus my attention:
  • Finding a Brazilian mentor
  • Volunteering in a local social project
  • Learning Portuguese faster: GOAL here; be conversational by December
  • Capoeira: I have found classes, just need to attend them!
  • Seeing more of Sao Paulo

This will certainly be enough to keep me busy I think.

Its already tough to think there is only another 8-9 months that I will be here especially when it could all be as busy as the last 4 months have been. I get frustrated sometimes with the people I know here when they are happy to sit at home talking all day Saturday, party all night then sleep all day Sunday. Yeah, it can be fun but not when life is so short!

heh... you make plans and work hard to follow them, that´s good but don´t get stressed ;)

You and Elias actually inspired me to do some life planning as well.

    have good day,
