Go Bananas Go
A trip to rio for Carnavale isn't complete without checking out the official Sambadromo parades. Some of my friends and trainees went one further and decided to be in the parade.
Introducing the banana trees........
Their Chosen Samba School Vila Isabel, the song 'soy loco por ti America' very appropriate for them as most are from South America and the parade was a commemoration of Latin American history.
All things for the evening started off well, yet how were they to get to the sambadromo in their costumes. Take the train! On the way to the station it starts to rain. When they get to the train station, they have missed the last train by several hours! They spend the next hour trying to convince taxi's to take them there. Finally they arrive at the sambadromo and have no idea where they need to go where they need to stand or what is going on. After working all this out they need to wait another 2 hours standing without any facilities before starting.....
